Step 1: Installing Ubisoft on Steam Deck
Before we move on to the main steps make sure you have the following:
- A stable internet connection to use Ubisoft
- A Ubisoft account and if you don’t have one you can make one from the Ubisoft website by entering your details
- A keyboard and mouse(optional) as setting up the process will become more quickly when you will connect a keyboard to Steam Deck
So, let’s follow the steps to install Ubisoft on your Steam Deck:
- Hold the Steam Deck power button to bring up the power menu.
- Then select Switch to Desktop to switch over to the Linux desktop.
- Make sure the desktop version of Steam is running and you have Chrome installed on Steam Deck
- Launch Chrome and download the Ubisoft Connect launcher just like you do on your PC
- After downloading don’t open the launcher.
- Open the Steam app and go to the top menu and follow this path: Games > Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library
- A pop-up window will appear and select browse
- Now follow this path: home > Deck > Downloads > and select the UbisoftConnectInstaller.exe file
- After clicking on Add Selected Programs, look for the Ubisoft Connect installer in your game library
- Right-click on it and select Properties > Compatibility
- Check the box that says Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool and select the latest stable version of Proton
- Once we do that you can hit the Play button and then follow the on-screen instructions to install it

Step 2: Launching Ubisoft on Deck
The final and a little bit tricky part after which you will be able to make use of the Ubisoft Connect launcher.
- Repeat Steps 6 and 7 mentioned above
- If you’ve left everything at the default settings, then follow this path: “/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/[numerical_identifier]/pfx/drive_c/users/streamuser/Desktop/Ubisoft Connect.lnk
- After clicking on Add Selected Programs, look for the Ubisoft Connect.lnk in your game library
- Now click on Properties > Compatibility
- Check the box that says Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool and select the latest stable version of Proton
- Now go to the Properties tab again and click on Browse
- Now click on the folder icon 3 times
- And to go back to Program Files (x86)
- Go to Ubisoft > Ubisoft Game Launcher > UbisoftConnect.lnk file and open it.
- Now hit the Play button and after logging in with your details you will able to use Ubisoft on your console
