Bungie has left many mysteries for the players to discover as the Lightfall lacks detail in its campaign, leaving the Guardians wondering about the elements like the Veil. It’s a surprise for me, too, as I discovered that the Veil holds importance for taking down the Witness and reshaping the future of the Universe.

What is The Veil in Destiny 2 Lightfall?
The Veil is a para casual artifact of light that the Witness once used to create the portal of Darkness and Light. This weapon or unusual element is hidden in Neomuna in an Ishtar Collective Facility. The Veil is an essential part of the Lightfall campaign, which is mentioned several times during the Lightfall campaign. So, prepare for spoilers as I discuss when, where, and who tells us about the Veil.
Rasputin Telling About the Veil
Rasputin did leave a hint about the Veil for us before sacrificing himself to destroy the Warsats, led by the Earmis in her mission to destroy the Traveler. In his last prerecorded message, Rasputin talks about the Veil at the end of Season of the Seraph.
In his prerecorded message, Rasputin also mentioned the precise location and the abilities of destructive powers lodged with the Veil. But unfortunately, that part was deleted by some unknown entity, which again is one of many unanswered questions in Destiny 2.
The Traveler and the Veil in Destiny 2 Lightfall Campaign
The Destiny 2 Lightfall campaign gives some more insights into the appearance of the Veil as it seems somehow connected to the Traveller. According to the campaign, the Veil is a majestic light structure that is portrayed in the form of a tree. We also learn from our Ghost notes that Traveller seems similar to the Veil.
According to another theory generated by players, the Witness opens a portal due to the connection between the Traveller and the Veil. Yet another mystery is where this portal leads. To the Veil? We still have no idea about it yet. The answer to this mystery is still lost somewhere in the Lightfall theory.
Fortunately, there are high hopes that Destiny 2 Season 20 will reveal more about the Veil and its relationship with the Traveler. I’m unsure if it’s a way to keep the fans engaged with the game or if Bungie forgot to mention it. Like many unanswered theories about Chalice Keycard and Strand Subclasses, there is much more to discover in the game.
