ALL Upcoming Z Fold 4 Rumors Combined: A Perfect Foldable Phone?

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 Is A “WOW”
But There Are A Number Of Things We’d Like to See Improved

This year’s new upcoming Android foldable flagship has dropped a very exciting piece of tech toy and it could make us ditch our old Android phone, according to a representative from Samsung.

Seriously? Heck. No.

There is no point to chase after the Galaxy Z Fold 4, given its alleged leaks

“I’ve legitimate reasons for this”

ALL Rumored Z Fold 4 Specs:

For a new hinge design, a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, and low heat and power saving would genuinely not want us to blindly flip over to Foldable Z Fold 4. At least, not for now.

Although, it is a moderately improved version of the current Samsung Z fold 3; a sleeker design, slimmer hinges, improved camera, a powerful chip, the 6.2-inch cover display, a 7.6-inch folding inner display, and a lower heat output still have some big shoes to fill if it wants to continue to hold onto the best foldable phones crown.

Because these two phones: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Samsung Galaxy Flip 4 are to feature Qualcomm’s latest silicon, our ROG Phone 6 Pro tests gave us the first chance to see Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 in action.

But, the same chip that’s there in ROG Phone 6 Pro can hint at us the performance of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. More detailed testing by Toms Guide showed us the exact numbers when comparing Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro to Galaxy S22 Ultra and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

In a nutshell, Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 phones are giving out more performance and power than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered models. More significantly, the ROG Phone 6 Pro churned out a whole decent number and is not too far from the A15 Bionic pinned inside iPhone 13.

The Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen that powers ROG Phone 6 Pro is not behind these results as Samsung’s Galaxy S22 lineup turned out to be. A big Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 leak points to the phone coming in a 1TB option.

Some Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 rumors also suggest the production of the S Pen stylus in April 2022 so it might come with the phone as standard. As for now, we see no built-in slot for the S-Pen stylus, a report from The Elec. The Z Fold 3 had the S-Pen support, but customers had to buy a phone case to house it.

The Elec also reports that Z Fold 4 would have a slightly different screen dimension from the last year; a fraction of an inch larger, and an outer display fraction of an inch smaller.

According to the article published by LetsGoDigital, the upcoming foldable phone might have an under-display fingerprint scanner. This would be a double-sided one that would sit between the cover screen and the main screen, so you could unlock the phone from either. However, this is not officially revealed yet.

Sources reveal that the triple-lens rear camera comes with a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide one, a 10MP telephoto one (with 3x optical zoom), plus a 4MP under-display camera on the inside, and a 10MP outer selfie camera.

The 50 MP camera that Samsung is hinting at us could potentially be the ISOCELL GN5, a 1/1.57-inch sensor that the mobile tech company already offers in the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus, a report from notebookcheck.net.

Some sources also believe that Galaxy Z Fold 4 could borrow the 108MP main camera that is found in the Galaxy S22 Ultra which seems odd a little. If it doesn’t then this means that Galaxy Z Fold 4 misses out on the 108MP sensor Samsung used in the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Further findings from notebookcheck revealed that the Vivo X Fold relies on the same camera, as does the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro.

Bear the big leaks with a pinch of salt

Phones at large are not equal in terms of efficiency and battery life. They differ. I’ve used an Android phone before and I wanted it to last all day (like 48 hours of battery time on a single charge). There’s another Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 leak that the battery capacity of the Fold 4 will be the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

As for the battery we’ve heard from the source that Galaxy Z Fold 4 might have a 4,400mAh battery with 25W fast charging, according to Ice Universe. In addition to this, the phone may likely feature wireless and reverse wireless charging as we have witnessed in Nothing Phone (1).

Don’t Do This Samsung! We Want To See An Improved Z Fold 4

To continue holding onto the best foldable phone crown with its next generation, we have curated a list of the things we’d like to see improved or added for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. This list is based on all the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 leaks and rumors we’ve heard so far, and we’ve weighed in with our thoughts in this list.

5 Things We Want in Upcoming Z Fold 4

1. Definitely a Lower Price

The Galaxy Z Fold range is way more expensive than it should be. We can understand that with the added price, there is so much tech involved. However, we would definitely want Samsung to try and trim it down.

There is just so much possibility that Samsung is doing this, as we saw the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 a little cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. In this hope, we can wait a little more for the right price point.

More precisely, we would like to see these phones not cost any more than top-end conventional smartphones. If that does not happen, we’d suspect there are a few more years awaiting.

2. Improved Cameras

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is so good in almost every aspect. However, its cameras do not come close to those on the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Given how much we are paying for these handsets, we would love to see an improved camera on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. To be more exact, we would want to see 10x the optical zoom along with an extra lens for 3x zoom.

3. An Improved battery life

One aspect where all the foldable phones struggle is with the battery drain time. Typically much bigger screens would require thorough battery power and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has, for instance, a 4,400mAh battery which is optimal for a non-foldable phone. However, the hinged two screens don’t go super far here.

So, with the given mAh’s packed in this battery, the foldable phone would hardly make it to another day. It is generally less than a day in fact with moderate use. So, we recommend Samsung push the battery power a little more.

4. Inclusion of S Pen support for the front screen

Fan’s be doing cartwheels if Samsung plans to include S Pen support for the front screen. Apparently, we have witnessed the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, the first Samsung foldable with the support for the S Pen stylus.

The reason we want this is that it helps you and us to get the most out of its massive screen. However, in the previous model, we saw that the S Pen was only compatible with the large main display, not the smaller secondary screen.

This is not a big miss, though, given the expansive main screen where the Samsung lovers would scribble on, but, once you get hold of the stylus, you would definitely want it to use it on the other screen which is 6.2 inches and not bad for writing. So, Samsung it is an ask from us to make a slot for the stylus for both screens.

5. Make A Slot For An S Pen

While there is no slot for the stylus in the previous version of Galaxy Z Fold 3, this time we are also disappointed that there’s no slot for it in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. We agree that it takes up extra space in the phone, but if Samsung agrees to Stylus support, we should get one slot for the pen too.

Lastly, When Is it Releasing?

As it stands, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold4 in early August alongside the Galaxy Z Flip4, the Galaxy Watch5, and the Galaxy Watch5 Pro.

As per The Verge, we might see the Z Fold 4 announced in August or September. That’s exactly what leaker Jon Prosser has claimed, saying August 10 is the day we’ll see the Z Fold 4.
