EA is relying on expectations and releasing Wild Hearts as the rising competitor of the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak by Capcom. As seen from the trailer, I feel like Wild Heart is awfully similar to the game mechanics and gameplay style of Monster Hunter Rise.

Wild Hearts Releasing in February 2023

The game is set in ancient Japan, revealing medieval combat styles with the help of weapons and tools. Our goal is to save the town by protecting it from monstrous creatures. Whether we play in single-player or multiplayer sessions, the goal remains the same. I hope the game lives up to my expectations instead of being a shadowed version of the Monster Hunter Rise.

6. The Settlers (New Allies)

The Settlers New Allies is a new game added to the series based on strategic planning and a long-term running storyline. The game suffered various delays after Ubisoft received concerning feedback, and now it’s set to release in February 2023. So, I hope the game will live up to its standards of gameplay and optimization.

The game gives us control over three different groups: Elari, Jorn, and Manu. The game is about strategic warfare, as you have to take decisions for the prosperity of citizens and prepare for victory by maintaining power and resources.

10. Octopath Traveler 2

The Octopath Traveler’s story is self-explanatory from its name. The game is about the journey of 8 heroes, traveling through a beautiful fantasy land rendered in 2.5D display. Yes, I wondered about that too, but the game is also supported on Nintendo, which is why the graphics are developed accordingly.

Octopath Traveler 2 Releasing in February 2023

The game’s storyline begins as each traveler (hero) comes to the land of Solistia with a unique purpose. Octopath Traveler 2 is a direct sequel to the original Octopath, so I expect a range of new characters and some of our favorites from the previous one.

12. Kerbal Space Program 2 (Early Access)

If you are a fan of simulator games, then Kerbal Space Program 2 would be an absolute treat for you with its sandbox spaceflight simulator. The game is expected to launch as early access via steam in February 2023. This game offers us an exceptional space exploration experience with powerful spacecraft and amazing cosmic sights.

Kerbal Space Program 2 Early Access in February 2023

After watching the trailer, I felt that astronaut vibe right in outer space. The special thing I discovered about early access is that the game will allow us to build our colonies while exploring outer space. I think it is sufficient for a pre-release experience as we still have to wait for the full game, which is expected to release soon.

13. Destiny 2 Lightfall

The Destiny 2 Lightfall will be the latest addition to the series and will blow some minds. By going through the trailer and released images, the game gave me more of a sci-fi vibe.

Destiny 2 Lighfall Releasing in February 2023

Destiny 2 Lightfall begins at a land known as Neptune, where our mission is to protect the city from the deadliest threat. I also learned that we’d have to fight against the Shadow Legion and Cloud Striders while saving the city from ultimate destruction. The Lightfall expansion brings a new experience by allowing you to wield new dark powers against enemies while exploring the Destiny Solar System.

Supported Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC

14. Scars Above

Scars Above is more like a game that should’ve launched around Halloween based on its spooky vibes and scheduled space horror. The game is a mixture of sci-fi and horror genres that balances the action-adventure vibe as a whole as we battle the slimy and creepy-looking aliens.

Scars Above Releasing in February 2023

The third-person sci-fi games mixed with horror content seem more difficult to play, especially if you’re not experienced with the game mechanics. Moreover, it depends on the platform you choose to play this game. I hope it won’t disappoint when it comes to graphics and optimization.

Release Date:  28th February 2023

Supported Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC

I was keeping track of the upcoming releases in February, and many games have been delayed further to the months of March and April. It is sad to keep the gaming community hanging while they impatiently wait for their favorite releases. The same goes true for many of the games released in February 2023. I hope these games will live up to my expectations when it comes to gameplay and campaign storyline.
