Despite ongoing discussions about whether or not to purchase and support Hogwarts Legacy in light of JK Rowling’s anti-trans views, Avalanche Software teases that Hogwarts Legacy will allow you to pet cats.
Hogwarts Legacy players will have the ability to pet cats, as confirmed by one of the Harry Potter social media channels. This is just one of the potential animal options players can bring to Hogwarts as their companion. Hence, everything until now is similar to the Harry Potter film series, which allows players to attend classes, learn spells and join one of the four houses of Hogwarts. So, the players may be allowed to bring an owl, cat, or toad as their companion in the game

According to the video clip by the Harry Potter Film Twitter account it’s confirmed that players will have the ability to interact with cats in the game, as shown in the video of a student petting a gray cat. The cats in the game will also respond and behave like real cats, such as brushing against a player’s leg. While the video only shows a single cat, it is likely that the game will feature a variety of different types of cats, similar to the characters of Mrs. Norris or Crookshanks in the Harry Potter series.
