Nvidia GTX 1650: MOST POPULAR GPU for Steam Users

For a long time, the most popular GPU among Steam users had been the Nvidia GTX 1060.

According to Steam’s hardware survey this November, users of the GTX 1650 increased by 6% and GTX 1060 users fell by 5% making the GTX 1650 the most popular card for Steam Users.

This is a suspicious decline in GTX 1060 users but this could mean changes in how Steam collects user data. Though the hardware survey is voluntary, users can choose to opt opt-in or out, this may affect how survey results come out.

It’s no surprise why these graphics cards gained popularity among users. Both are a budget price-to-performance sweet spot for most PC gamers.

The GTX 1650 is a good low-power graphics card that’s great for lower-spec 1080p gaming systems which could get you 60 FPS on most E-sports titles and older PC games at low-medium settings and High settings on some games.

This GPU can’t take advantage of the DLSS technology that comes in the more advanced Nvidia graphics cards.

This GPU can now be found for as little as $160 dollars on Amazon which is just a little over its official launch price. The GTX 1060 will still be relatively popular in 2023 as the second-hand market is flooding worldwide with used mining graphics cards. In this case, the GTX 1650 is not as big of a performance jump if a GTX 1060 can be had for under $100.

With the announcement made by Nvidia that they’ve halted the production of the GTX 1660 and GTX 1660 Super, the GTX 1650 is the only GTX16xx lineup card in production and is still available.

The current budget offerings by Nvidia are the RTX 3050 and RTX 3060 but these are also far from affordable for the average PC gamer, hence the popularity of these lower-cost models.
